Happy Birthday! Our platform turns 1 🥳
Exactly one year ago, on March 4th 2025, we opended the doors and invited the first people to join the newly founded Vienna BioCenter Alumni Platform. And already 50 of you joined for our online launch on March 27th.
What has happended since:
🌍 A global community: Our network has grown to almost 1000 members from all over the world! You can easily see who’s nearby on the map and connect via direct messages.
🎓 Career development events: Alumni have been sharing their career journeys in our recurring events — and there is more to come!
🤝 In-person connections: We held the PhD Symposium – Alumni Edition n November last year here in Vienna, where many alumni and current campus members reconnected. Have a look at the photos on the platform.
💼 Job opportunities: Our job board is regularly updated with new posts. If you’re exploring new opportunities, don’t miss out!
🌱 Mentoring program: Our first mentoring initiative was launched, focusing on the transition from academia to industry and beyond — a great way to connect and expand your professional network.
What we look forward to:
🎙️ Our new video podcast "Career Spotlights": We are exploring the diverse career paths of our alumni to create a library of guidance and inspiration. We’ve just started, so stay tuned for more episodes!
🙋♀️ Expanding our community: While we began by inviting current and former PhD students, Postdocs, and PIs, our campus is so much more! We look forward to welcoming even more employees and alumni from all sections of the Vienna BioCenter.
